Isotonic exercises!
Looking good and feeling healthy is something everyone wants to achieve in today’s world. Nothing compares to a regime which involves intense work-out for a short period of time but ensures absolute achievement of our health goals. Where this might not be the thing for women, but men can certainly be happy for isotonic exercises give you all that you desire and more!

Isotonic manner of exercising the muscles have caught great rage in recent times. Let’s take a look at what do they exactly consist of!

In isotonic exercises, the length of the muscles changes but the tension in the muscles remains unchanged. Some examples like lifting an object off a desk, walking or running involve isotonic contractions in which the amount of pressure levied on the muscles  do not undergo any apparent change. Such isotonic movements are known as Auxotonic contractions.

There are primarily two types of isotonic contractions:

(a) Concentric in which the tension in the muscles is raised to meet the resistance. It then remains the same as the muscle shortens.

(b) Eccentric in which the muscle size lengthens because of the resistance being greater than the force produced by the muscle.

As each muscle moves along its complete range, isotonic contraction creates tension with maximum effort at the beginning as well as the end of every exercise. Isotonic exercises are either carried out through dumbbells or using the fixed equipment (barbells) like the Nautilus. The only difference between both is that of the magnitude of resistance employed in both.

Both forms of isotonic exercises are highly beneficial in strengthening the muscles and the fact that they are highly affordable makes them more popular among the young breed. However another reason that makes them so high in demand is that they help exercise all major muscle groups by employing a broad range of exercises.
