Relationship between Swine Flu and H1N1 FluH1N1 Flu is heavily spreading from one individual to another in the same manner as many regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. The virus that was first detected in residents of the United States in April 2009 has now reached almost all parts of the world including the United Kingdom, China, India, Myanmar, Japan, and Korea to name a few.

How come H1N1 came to known as Swine Flu?

The H1N1 Flu was previously referred to as swine flu because earlier lab tests revealed that many genes in this virus are similar to influenza viruses that generally happen in pigs (swines) in the region of North America. But now it has been revealed that there are prominent differences in swine viruses and the H1N1 viruses. Many scientists, across the globe, have termed H1N1 as a quadruple reassortant virus.

This contagious virus needs to be treated by seeking immediate qualified medical advice as soon as its symptoms are experienced. Even a delay of a day or two can prove to be lethal as it can prove dangerous to the original patients as well as people near him.

It is believed that the novel H1N1 virus spreads mostly through sneezing or coughing by people suffering from influenza. There may also be occasions when some people may catch this virus after coming in direct contact with an object or surface, which is already contaminated with the virus.

It is essential for people, who even suspect symptoms of H1N1, to seek immediate medical advice and take all necessary precautions to ensure that their life is not hostage to this deadly virus at any point of time.
