Role of Health and Fitness

Posted by admin | Health and Fitness | Tuesday 18 August 2009 5:44 am

Role of Health and FitnessHealth and Fitness play important roles in the life of each one of us. This is simply because only a healthy and fit individual can walk on the path of success in any sense of the world. If you are not fit, you are nowhere and if you are fit, you are everywhere.

Staying fit and healthy does not mean that you need to spend a fortune or wake early. You can always exercise at your convenience, starting from a vacant space in your own home.

Walking or jogging for about 20-35 minutes per day and then following it with some stretching exercises can put your body safe against common ailments besides improving the level of immunity. If walking and jogging are not your cups of tea then you can swim, ride a horse, or spend some quality time in the gym. Whatever may be the mode of staying fit, you need to understand that you can gain and live for long only when you stay in the best shape.

In addition to that, it is always better to leave those bad habits of smoking and alcohol. If you are on antidepressants for any reason, try to walk for 30-40 minutes just before you sleep after having dinner. You will be surprised to know that you will get comfortable and uninterrupted sleep without those pills. Furthermore, enjoy an active lifestyle and include fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet; take small meals 4-5 times a day rather than encouraging obesity by taking big meals.

These small health measures can go a long way in helping you to stay away from a sedentary lifestyle to march on the path of health and fitness.

A Few Things you need to know before heading for the GymIf you have decided to leave that sedentary lifestyle of yours for the better and planning to go to a gym, accept our congratulations first of all for the right decision. But, do not just head straight to the gym. Learning a few things before you enter the gym will prove beneficial for you in creating and maintaining a sound health regimen.

First of all, you need to know that there are many differences between working out at home and doing them in a gymnasium. The communal fitness environment that you only get with a gym can be an intimidating experience for you if you are unaware of some basic things.

Do not start working out alone; try to find a partner at the gym, preferably a bodybuilder or personal trainer. Seek qualified information about muscle building from reliable sources such as members of medical fraternity.

Try to be in a relaxed state of mind in the earlier days; do not over-stress yourself or your body. Eat, sleep, and drink right. Go for a high protein, low carbohydrate diet and take ample amount of protein energy food. Do not eat junk food and try to eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables along with food products that are rich on vitamins and minerals. Sleep for a minimum of 8-9 hours and drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Leave those habits of smoking, drugs, coffee, tea, and alcohol and think healthy and green.

Before going to the gym, start the day with a bit of warming up and stretching exercises. Set realistic goals for yourself and do not ever stress your body for fast gains. Remember, there have been instances where people have left gyms and their thoughts about good health after failing to achieve their own unrealistic expectations about health and bodybuilding. It is better to be a slow and steady starter than getting discouraged for not meeting self-expectations. With these small and simple tips, you can finally say yes to good health and get rid of the agony of defeat in an easy manner.

Want to enjoy good health, change your lifestyle

Posted by admin | Health Care | Saturday 25 July 2009 6:19 am

Want to enjoy good health, change your lifestyleWe all live under the impression that we are almost “invincible” and cannot suffer from any ailment until one bad day we are told by a doctor that we are no more invincible.

The Mother Nature has helped us all by giving nutritional food products, fruits, and vegetables but somehow and for no good reason, we tend to forget the usefulness and relevance of them in our life. This is the time when Junk food, aerated drinks, and stale food come in our life and thereafter, things began to change for the worse.

Since our body starts lacking basic nutrients by being kept away from nutritive food, it starts showing signs of weakness and loses its vigor on a consistent basis. What was once only a cough starts getting developed into serious ailments such as throat infection.

In addition to that, many of us do not find any time or interest in doing exercises and maintaining a healthy diet & sleep schedule. Adding to the woes, some of us even start taking tobacco products, alcohol, and drugs. The reason of such changed lifestyle may be anything but it just cannot be justified as we are doing nothing but playing with our own body for a few minutes of pleasure.

During these times, we forget that exercises, good sleep, freedom from stress, and healthy diet regimen are all that are needed to maintain sound health.

If you really want to enjoy the best of nature by staying fit, you need to change your lifestyle. Sedentary lifestyle cannot do anything good to your health and the earlier you realize this fact, the better.

In short, think healthy and be healthy.

The fact that many of us are living with ailments, without actually being aware of them, is a great cause of concern as knowingly or unknowingly we are responsible for our own bad health due to a sedentary lifestyle. Life for an average office-going individual is now only concerned with a 9 am-5 pm shift, then watching television, eating, and sleeping. The worst sufferers of such a sedentary lifestyle are those who work on irregular or night shifts. This is because nature has formulated some basic principles, one of which is working during the day and sleeping during the night. We may not have any option to change this but we can still maintain standards of sound health by engaging our body by introducing it to the benefits of exercises.

It is essential for every one to get engaged in some sort of exercises to stay fit and away from ailments. Exercises not only allow our body to function in a normal and proper manner but also help in smooth circulation of blood and body parts. Thus, it becomes important for us to at least take some time out to get into exercises such as walking, jogging, swimming, sports, or lifting weights or strength training. However, one must never forget that warming up the body to tone it before getting into exercises is as necessary as undertaking exercises on a regular basis. This is also essential to help the body get accustomed to the rigorous exercise sessions to reap the optimum benefits of exercises.

If you have finally decided to change your lifestyle and maintain an effective health plan, begin your day with warming up sessions of 15-25 minutes before getting into exercises. In addition to warming up and exercises, you need to maintain a timely diet and sleeping schedule so that the body can rejuvenate itself for growth and developmental purposes. Bad habits such as smoking, alcohol, drugs, and too much intake of caffeine products such as tea, coffee, or aerated drinks must be reduced if they cannot be eliminated completely.

With these small but great tips, your decision to go healthy with warming up and exercises can soon turn out to be a winning decision. After all, the winner is right there in ourselves, we just need to identify him.
